Transportation Changes

If you need to change the way that your student will be transported to or from school (bus, car, daycare, etc.), please let us know by sending an email before 3:00PM to kmetransportation@newcaneyisd.org.

Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures

In an effort to ensure your student’s safety and minimize traffic, our morning drop off procedures are as follows: 

Car riders will enter the parking lot on the west side of the building. There is ONE lane of traffic. Students will enter the building from the gym doors.

In an effort to ensure your student’s safety and minimize traffic, our afternoon pick  off procedures are as follows: 

  • Car riders will enter the parking lot on the west side of the building. There are two lines of traffic. Be sure to display your car rider tag. Do not change lanes once a member of our staff has seen your car tag and recorded it. Students will be escorted to cars by a teacher.
  • PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade walkers will be escorted to the front of the building (outside of the front office) to awaiting parents. Parents MUST have a car rider pass.
  • 2nd through 5th grade walkers will exit the front, east entrance of the building. Parents can wait in the grass for your walker.
