Attendance Information
Attendance is the first step in student achievement. Missing a day of school is a missed opportunity for your child to learn, have fun with their friends, and see their teacher.
If your child is absent, campuses will contact the parent or guardian in order to maintain accurate attendance records. You may contact the attendance clerk of your child’s school to notify them of any absence by clicking the Attendance Notes link below and attach a parent/doctor’s note. A parent or doctor’s note will be required when a child returns to school. An individual commits an offense if the individual fails to attend school on ten (10) or more days or parts of days within a six (6) month period or on three (3) or more days or parts of days within a four (4) week period.
Drop Off & Pick Up Information
In an effort to ensure your student’s safety and minimize traffic, our morning drop off procedures are as follows:
- Car riders will enter the parking lot on the west side of the building. There is ONE lane of traffic. Students will enter the building from the gym doors.
In an effort to ensure your student’s safety and minimize traffic, our afternoon pick up procedures are as follows:
- Car riders will enter the parking lot on the west side of the building. There are two lines of traffic. Be sure to display your car rider tag. Do not change lanes once a member of our staff has seen your car tag and recorded it. Students will be escorted to cars by a teacher.
- PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade walkers will be escorted to the front of the building (outside of the front office) to awaiting parents. Parents MUST have a car rider pass.
- 2nd through 5th grade walkers will exit the front, east entrance of the building. Parents can wait in the grass for your walker.
The safety of all in our community is our priority and we will continue to make changes to our procedures as needed. We thank you for your patience and support.
For more transportation information, visit the NCISD Transportation site.
Rainy Day Procedures
The presence or absence of lightning will determine if a rainy day dismissal is called. If we must call rainy day dismissal, parents will be notified via Remind no later than 3:15 p.m.
When rainy day dismissal is called:
- All walkers must become car riders.
- Parents must have the current year car rider tag and follow car rider procedures (above).
- If you do not have a car rider tag, you must go to the front office to request one (an official I.D. is required) and then proceed to the car rider line.
- Parents who choose not to join the car line will need to wait in the front office until dismissal has been completed. At that time, our staff members will be able to dismiss your child to you.
While the above are our guidelines that we strive to meet, please understand that in unforeseen circumstances, we will always make a call that matches what we believe is in the best interest of our students' safety.
